Congratulations! Cannot wait to read Planting Hope as an adult. Looking forward to Everything’s Not Lost in October!

Congratulations! I’m beyond excited to read and share both books. I just preordered Everything’s Not Lost. Thank you for who you are and for the healing you bring through your writing and mutual aid works. Your writing has impacted me deeply 🙏

Hope is actually one of the best feelings!! I actually just wrote something very similar about hope caused by film!

Thank you. I'm so grateful, in this moment of history and my life, to be able to read such necessary books and share them. I'm especially looking forward to Everything's Not Lost -- young people (and honestly, all of us adults, too) desperately need models of what living with mental health and life challenges can look like when they don't destroy us. Congratulations and thank you.

My NY resolution is to spread hope and connect people to a cause.

To that end, I recently finished a 5-year project curating the very best:

- Good news

- Far Side cartoons

- Tech, energy & medical "miracles."

In dark times, I hope to shine a light ˗ˏˋ★ˎˊ˗

Darby -- I am glad that you want to spread hope. I hope I can share some feedback that might lead to a refinement of how you're choosing to do that. I want you to know that your comment made me feel the opposite of hopeful. In response to an accomplished Black author who is writing books that are so necessary in these times, you wrote a comment that is only about you, about how you want to shine "light" in "dark" times. In response to his books about hope in the face of parental sickness, significant mental health challenges, and sibling death, you've shared that you've curated Far Side cartoons? Please be more thoughtful and kind -- hope is not cultivated by trying to center ourselves in a space that is just not ours.
