Adding credence to your reporting - where is Mahmoud now? After the first hearing, he disappeared from the news! Has he been charged? Deported? Returned to NY? Has his wife spoken to him? Has he spoken with an attorney? Our inability to answer any of these questions reflects the truth of your headline - Fascism is Here!

Frederick, I hear you and believe you. On March 14th there was a nationwide protest by veterans and their supporters both against fascism and the gutting of the VA by DOGE. People were called to join either in DC or in their state capitals across the country. I could not get to my state capital or DC that day, but spread the word.

I waited to see the coverage of this massive push by US veterans and their supporters. I couldn’t find it on CNN or any other national network or in the newspaper. The only place I could access it was through postings by supporters on YouTube. I’m not on social media, but I was absolutely dumbfounded that there was zero national news coverage of a major protest by activist Veterans! These are people that truly know what fascism is and they aren’t having it. They risked their faces being analyzed and possibly identified as dangers to the state! Where was the coverage?

The lack of coverage silenced the impact and worked to incapacitate the message and its impact. The media is clearly being silenced in carrying out the duty and responsibility of a free press. One of the activists rising up is a man named Cash who is ironically a white, former southern Baptist, comedian from the South. He is fearless, intelligent, charismatic and resolute in this battle against the evils of fascism and defense of our democracy. He led the protest in DC on March 14th and yesterday he began what will be a daily presence and protest at the Heritage Foundation, the authors of the program that is dismantling our democracy. He as much as said that this might cost him his life, but he won’t be silenced. We must make a point of seeking out information outside of normal channels. We must keep our collective ears to the ground to pick up the signals of the movement. Their motto is “Alone we are only a drop of water, but together we are a FLOOD”. If you live in or around the DC area you are encouraged to join the daily protest at the Heritage Foundation. It begins at 12 PM each day and will go in indefinitely. Much is going on but the media is not covering it. But YouTube is a great source of information.
