I saw this post on the "Explore" feed, and felt like I should comment. I want this to be a good-faith conversation, so please don't jump to conclusions about me and my beliefs here.

I disagree, and do not think a total gun ban and buy-back is the solution people think it is. The goal of keeping children safe is not what I disagree with, but the method. Those of us that do have guns and care about child safety do exist, but the political environment right now hides voices in the middle. Lots of echo-chambers are on all sides, and I'm deliberately stepping out of mine to address topic by topic the things I believe.

Again, I disagree with most of your article. But with that said, I respect the Here 4 the Kids group's willingness to organize in the pursuit of what they believe. I hope everyone in the group making this trip has a safe journey.

Maybe you would have more luck with reducing VIOLENCE (not just "gun" violence, but all violence) if you spent time looking at the societal forces that are turning the US into a 3rd world cartel-run country. Inner-city gangs are by far the biggest source of not only "gun" violence, but ALL violence. Why do they even exist????

And when you insist in lumping in suicides, and when you insist that 19yo inner-city gang-bangers are "children" well, you lose your credibility>

When you casually dismiss that >governments< have been the perpetrators of BY FAR the most murders and violent deaths in all history, well, expect push back.
